Man Flu Recovery & My Travel Plans

Hey Peeps, long time no see... we should really have a coffee or something, I hope you’re all good? As you can probably tell I’m going all out in celebration as I am currently on the road to Man Flu recovery. For those of you who don’t know what Man Flu is, it’s a very serious condition described by Urban Dictionary below:

A rare strain of flu so powerful and so deadly it can only be matched by the Bubonic Plague and Aids. A incurable virus which has adapted to only effect the "XY" gene found in men. The virus attacks the immune system 10,000 times harder than the average flu virus, causing excruciating pain for the victim. Man Flu has no cure and prayers can save the forsaken life of the infected. The often deadly virus is mostly laughed at by women who sadly cannot contract "Man Flu"
Woman: Is he ok?
Doctor: I'm afraid not, I'm sad to say he has Man Flu’

Luckily for me I had a nurse look after me and after some time I have started to recover. For those of you who don’t believe me I swear I had a sore throat and everything and for those who don’t believe there is such a thing as Man Flu I have the math formula to prove it exists:

Right onto the matter at hand, a lot of my travelling paperwork has come through, unfortunately I can’t book some parts of what I wanted to do as me doing them will depend on what happens whilst I’m travelling i.e. whether I’d be able to afford to. For the time being here’s my plans roughly:

In February I shall start my travels catching a flight to Iceland where I will stay for a few days which may include a trip to some natural sulphur pools which require you to shower down and get naked before entering the pools due to not being allowed to contaminate them – not my rule just what I’ve been told by the travel agent I spoke to - please note there will be no blog photos of this as I don’t want to traumatise any more people than necessary. I will then be flying from Iceland to Seattle for a few days to check out the very first Starbucks and various other touristy things. I will then be getting a coach up to Vancouver and will stay there for a couple of months checking out the sites and probably washing some dishes (note to self take some marigolds). If I haven’t got twitchy eyes from Tim Horton’s coffee in those couple of months I shall be joined by a friend of mine for a couple of weeks in a RV - taking him out in Vancouver and then visiting Whistler, Banff, Lake Louise and wherever we get lost at along the way. Apparently we’ll be driving through some glacier country so I’ve been told that some people go for a dip in ice water, I’ll be honest now that I don’t think I have the balls to do this and if I do I don’t think I’d have them afterwards. After my friend returns home I shall probably be catching a flight to Toronto where the marigolds may be in full force again. In June I shall be flying off to see my brother and some friends in Fredericton before returning to Toronto in July. Later that month I shall be flying down to Costa Rica which is where depending on how much money I have left I may be learning a bit of Spanish, how to surf (and not die trying) and do some animal volunteering work. Unfortunately from there I shall be returning home (In September) ready to be a real house wifeafter my extensive marigold experience... hopefully this would mean I’d be immune from Man Flu J

Right that’s all for now, have a good weekend
Much Love

    1. To be honest I don't think I've ever had a coffee from there so I'm not sure myself but I can try an original blend :-) from Tim Hortons I fell in love with their Iced Latte Caramel Supremes and BELT Bagels
Yep no one can argue with the evidence now Man Flu has a formula proving it's existence ;P

  2. OMG. Banff. I am so incredibly jealous that you have blocked all my comment creativity. Now I will just go to a corner and curse your luck.

    1. I know Banff does look amazing :-) I shall be blogging on the way through my travels partially for jealous people to hate me even more and partially for my family to know how things are going ;-P I daresay Denmark is pretty picturesque so your year should be pretty good? On the luck part I have been lucky to have a job but getting the money to do it has been from shutting myself away from the world when I was in a downer (for quite a long time) so I wasn't spending money whilst I was working so in a way it kind of evens itself out - Bad Time for a Good Time

    1. I've never officially been travelling before so it will be a new experience for me being away for so long by myself but it should be amazing. Where have you been travelling before? - I remember you saying you went to Amsterdam or was that just a short break? I tell you those guys who had man flu deserve a free kit kit too ;-P

    2. Well, to be honest, I've never really been travelling like you will either, I just know I love it. I've been in France, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, but that was with my family when I was a kid and only for two weeks each. Yes, I went to Amsterdam for a week with a few friends, it was a school graduation trip. And I've been in Istanbul and Vienna with my ex-boyfriend and his family, but both was only for New Year's Eve, so that isn't really travelling either.
BUT I hope to go on a semester abroad in September and maybe I can travel a bit afterwards :) (although I have no idea how to pay for that haha)

    3. Well depending on where you go and which languages you know you can teach languages for work, for English speakers there's short courses you can do which allow you to teach conversational English to people abroad called TEFL - you can earn up to £2000 per month teaching it. Though I daresay you would probably need a bit of money to get out to whether you're going to and cover you for the first couple of months until the wages start coming in :-)
